This Privacy Policy describes how the Eiger Bundle Discounts Shopify app ("the App") accesses, uses, processes and stores information when it is installed on a Shopify store.

The App is provided by Frequency 3G Telecom Ltd trading as Eiger ("Eiger", "we", "us" or "our").

Information accessed through Shopify

The App accesses only the Shopify store information required to provide its functionality.

This may include Shopify store identification and authentication information, product and product variant information, discount configuration, metafield definitions and data, and metaobject definitions and data used to configure compatible product recommendations.

The App also includes a Shopify Discount Function. Shopify executes this function when evaluating an eligible cart. The function processes information such as product variant identifiers, quantities and App-specific cart line attributes required to determine and apply the appropriate discount.

The App does not request access to Shopify customer or order data through the Shopify Admin API. It does not use the Discount Function to access or store customer names, email addresses, postal addresses, payment information or other customer contact information.

Information provided directly by merchants

Merchants can enter configuration information in the App, including bundle discount percentages, product or variant identifiers, product handles and promotional discount amounts.

The App does not require merchants to provide separate contact information or information about their customers through the App.

The infrastructure used to operate the App may also generate limited technical logs for security, troubleshooting and operational purposes. These logs may include information such as an IP address, request date and time, requested URL, browser or user-agent information and error details.

Technical log information is not used for advertising, marketing or profiling.

Customer information

The App does not directly collect personal information from a merchant's customers.

The storefront component of the App uses product, variant, compatibility, selection, cart and pricing information necessary to display compatible product recommendations and support the bundle experience.

The App does not install customer tracking technologies, advertising pixels or marketing cookies of its own, and it does not use customer browsing behaviour for analytics, advertising or profiling.

Shopify requires App Store apps to support certain privacy-related webhook requests. Where such a request is received, the App processes it only for the purpose of complying with Shopify's privacy requirements and does not retain customer personal information from the request.

How information is used

Information accessed or processed by the App is used only as necessary to provide, secure and maintain its functionality.

This includes:

• authenticating the Shopify store and maintaining the App's connection to Shopify;
• managing bundle discount configuration;
• creating and maintaining the Shopify data definitions required for compatible product recommendations;
• displaying configured compatible product recommendations;
• creating and applying configured discounts through Shopify;
• maintaining the security and reliability of the App;
• troubleshooting technical issues; and
• complying with applicable legal and Shopify platform requirements.

We do not sell information accessed through the App, disclose it to advertisers, use it for behavioural advertising or use it to build marketing profiles.

Data storage and retention

App configuration relating to discounts and storefront functionality is stored within the merchant's Shopify store.

Compatible recommendation metaobjects, compatibility metafields and related Shopify definitions are also stored within Shopify and are controlled by the merchant.

The App stores Shopify authentication and session information required to maintain its connection to an installed store. This information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the App or meet applicable legal and security requirements.

When Shopify sends the App an applicable shop/redact privacy request following removal of the App, remaining locally stored Shopify session information associated with that store is deleted.

Merchant-owned Shopify data created or configured through the App may remain within the merchant's Shopify store after the App is uninstalled and can be managed or deleted by the merchant through Shopify.

Technical server logs are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for security, troubleshooting and operation of the App and are subsequently deleted or overwritten in accordance with our infrastructure retention processes.

Data processing and international transfers

Eiger is operated by Frequency 3G Telecom Ltd, a company established in the United Kingdom.

The App and its database are hosted using Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the Europe (Ireland) region.

Shopify also processes information as part of providing the Shopify platform, authentication services, APIs and App Store infrastructure.

We may use service providers where necessary to host, operate, maintain or secure the App. These providers are permitted to process information only as necessary to provide the relevant services.

Where personal information is transferred outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area, appropriate safeguards will be used where required by applicable data protection law.

Data security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information processed by the App against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.

Connections to the App are protected using HTTPS/TLS. Access to production systems and stored information is restricted to authorised personnel.

Access to Shopify is authenticated using Shopify's application authentication mechanisms, and Shopify webhook requests are authenticated before they are processed.

Privacy rights and requests

Depending on where you are located, applicable privacy laws may provide rights in relation to personal information, including rights to access, correct, erase or restrict the processing of personal information and, in some circumstances, to object to processing or request data portability.

Shopify merchants or customers with questions concerning information processed by the App can contact us using the details below.

Requests concerning information held directly by a Shopify merchant should normally be directed to that merchant.

The App supports Shopify's mandatory privacy processes, including applicable data access and deletion requests received through Shopify.

Disclosure of information

We may disclose information to service providers where necessary to host, operate, maintain or secure the App, or where disclosure is required by law.

We do not sell information collected through the App or disclose it to third parties for advertising or unrelated marketing purposes.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App, our data practices or applicable legal or Shopify requirements.

The date at the top of this page will be updated when changes are made.
